Fashion was something I had developed passion for though I’m an architect by profession. I also have a master’s degree in architecture. I had an idea to create African inspired clothing with fabrics that are luxurious but affordable enough for women within my price range. I was in the middle of a research on fashion business when I came across a Nigerian designer who had participated in Building Entrepreneurs Today. My curiosity led me to do further research on him and I found out that the growth before he went for BET and afterward was astounding. So I made a decision to participate in the next BET program.
It was 9 months away from the next BET and I was looking forward to participating in that one, finally there was an open call for applications into the program and I realized there was also a business training attached to the N3 Million prize money, this got me more interested and motivated in applying into the program because I was a creative person who knew only about fashion and little or nothing about business.
BET was an amazing experience for me, I learnt so much and met a lot of amazing people and also networked with mentors and facilitators I never would have been able to meet if I wasn’t part of the program. My business benefitted most from the program because just organically attending classes, trainings and mentorship programs; I could see my business changing. Diamond Bank changed my life and my business. When I look into the future and see how my business has grown, I would know that it was at the point I became associated with Diamond Bank that there was a change and progress really began.
